Mission
Through direct channels (international and European tenders) and indirect means (marketing, communication), identify new clients, generate new business opportunities, and design tailored offers aligned with RTEi's strategic priorities.
Activities
1. Market Intelligence
• Size addressable market opportunities by segment, geography, and client type; identify where RTEi's expertise commands a competitive advantage.
• Analyse the competitive landscape: map principal competitors, their service positioning, pricing signals, and recent contract wins.
• Monitor policy and regulatory developments relevant to RTEi's markets.
• Evaluate institutional donor programme pipelines and bilateral cooperation frameworks to identify funding-backed procurement flows.
2. Service Line & Product Development
• Work with Business Line Directors to define, structure, improve and package RTEi's services into clear product lines.
• Build and maintain a live pipeline with accurate probability weightings, revenue estimates, and decision timelines.
• Represent RTEi at industry events, energy forums, and donor-organised conferences.
3. Proposal & Tender Preparation
• Coordinate, contribute with Business Line specialists and review proposals through to contractualisation;
• Lead the assembly of consortium offers; coordinate inputs from partners.
• Participate in contractual negotiations and ensure commercial red lines are respected.
4. Key Account Management
• Manage a portfolio of strategic accounts; maintain account plans covering opportunity horizon, relationship mapping, and cross-Business Line service offerings.
• Ensure commercial continuity during project delivery: maintain client contact, identify extension and upsell opportunities, and lead renewal strategies.
Experience & Expertise
• 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in business development or commercial development in a technically complex B2B environment.
• Knowledge of the electricity industry — power systems, electricity networks, and grid infrastructure.
• Experience in tender management in consulting, engineering, or infrastructure, notably for international financial institutions (IFIs).
Key Strengths
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to produce high-quality proposals, briefs, and executive-level presentations.
• Charismatic and empathetic; skilled at adapting to interlocutors across cultures, seniority levels, and institutional contexts.
• Rigorous in production of tender files and commercial documentation.
• Analytically capable: able to read markets, size opportunities, and translate intelligence into actionable positioning.
Education
• Master's degree (Bac+5) from a business school or engineering school.
Ambition & Motivation
• Contribute to the commercial transformation and growth of a specialist international consultancy.
• Work across diverse geographies, client types, and energy market contexts.
• Exercise genuine autonomy and initiative within a structured commercial framework.
Languages
• English: full professional proficiency (mandatory).
• French: professional proficiency strongly preferred.
